Kavita comes to Glenbrook with 15 years of experience in the payments industry on the product, strategy and engineering fronts. Most recently, she headed Product for PayPal’s card payments business in the Americas, where she worked in a wide range of countries to bring new capabilities, payment methods and acquirers into the PayPal ecosystem.
In this role, she managed product roadmaps and strategy, execution, launch and enhancements to PayPal’s payment experience. Kavita also led efforts to launch the company’s Instant Transfers offering, differentiating PayPal’s withdrawal capabilities in the market, and creating a significant revenue stream for Venmo.
Kavita has been a key player in PayPal’s approach for expansion through partnering with the payment ecosystem across the acquiring, network, and issuing community, and has a deep understanding of the opportunities to maximize these relationships. Kavita also has extensive experience in process improvement as well as managing transaction throughput and profitability.
Prior to PayPal, Kavita was at Yahoo bringing payments capabilities to light on the engineering side for Yahoo’s premium services. She has profound respect for what it takes to build robust, scalable, and expandable systems, in high growth environments, and understands the strengths of building multi-tenant capabilities in a services-based architecture.
Kavita’s interests lie in the fast-evolving landscape of eCommerce and marketplace payments, cross-border transactions, remittances, evolution of blockchain, alternative lending, digitization of cash, and financial inclusion.
Kavita holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from Mumbai University; and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California.
